NEW Rochester RHIO Announces Partnership with HealtheConnections

Rochester RHIO (RRHIO) has announced a partnership with HealtheConnections to prepare them to serve Rochester-area participants as RRHIO transitions health information exchange (HIE) services.

Following discussions with the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC), New York State Department of Health, and Qualified Entity partners, RRHIO has determined that partnering with HealtheConnections provides a path to continue delivering robust SHIN-NY services in the region.

What This Means for Participants

  • No action is required at this time.
  • Participants should continue using Rochester RHIO services as they do today, including results delivery and other critical services.
  • Migration activities have begun and will continue through the remainder of the year, with additional details provided as plans are finalized.
  • Participants who do not designate another Health Information Network (HIN) will automatically be transitioned to HealtheConnections to ensure continuity of service.

Updated Resources Are Now Available:

We have published updated transition resources, including Frequently Asked Questions, a participant letter from Rochester RHIO CEO Carol Tegas, and a message from NYeC CEO David Horrocks.

We will continue to provide updates through email communications and FAQs. Expect communications at least every two weeks, and more often as necessary.

July 22, 2026 | Rochester RHIO Update

We Will Not Be Migrating to a New Platform at the End of July

Over the past few months, we have shared plans to migrate Rochester RHIO to a new Health Information Exchange platform. Several factors have impacted our migration timeline, and we have determined the need to delay the cutover to a new platform.

We realize this is late-breaking news and appreciate your patience.

As a current Rochester RHIO participant, the RRHIO services you use will continue for the time being. However, users may experience increased service response times. We have reinstated the ability to submit applications for RHIO services through the Provider Portal.

Results delivery and other important services will continue functioning as they have for the near future. If you have questions about a specific service, please contact us.

We are developing a revised go-forward plan in partnership with New York State and will share additional details as soon as they are available.

Statewide Encounter Alert Services (SEAS)

In line with statewide strategy, we are continuing to migrate participants of our current alerts service to the Statewide Encounter Alert Services (SEAS).
